We have been having a wonderful time on school tours and more over the past few weeks! Our 2nd Classes had a fantastic time on their First Holy Communion day, we were very proud of them! We also had four of our 5th Class students Niamh Kennedy, Niamh Heskin, Abbie Connell and Saoirse Francis come in 3rd place for their board game ‘Bin it to win it’ at the Trocaire Game- changers final in Dublin recently.

For the last few days we have been celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge in Scoil Róis! Our 4th Classes have been working hard to make this year’s ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ special. From our ‘Raidió Scoil Róis’ each morning and fashion shows as Gaeilge, our pupils have had a great time! Today we had lots of fun during our St Patrick’s Day Ceilís hosted by our Senior Classes as Scoil Róis went green for the day!

Get on your scooter and scoot to school! Scoot to school has always been a favourite with our Junior Infants to 2nd Classes in the past. We hope even more boys and girls throughout the school with join in on the fun this year! Our walk to school challenge proved a great success with lots of pupils putting in great effort every day. Some of Mr O’Flaherty’s class even came to school via ‘Walking Bus’ from Leisureland! Scoot to School Week will take place next week on Monday the 7th - Friday the 11th. We look forward to seeing lots of children arriving in style on their scooters each day! Today in Scoil Róis lots of pupils enjoyed dressing up as their favourite characters from a book, DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) and more!
Here is a little sample of some of the action from our Senior Infants and 5th Class! 1st class enjoyed exploring maths this week with some concrete materials!
Take a look at our Facebook page for more photos of all the action! Senior Infants have been exploring ‘The Post Office’ this month for Aistear. Last week they went on a trip to the post box in Salthill to post some very special mail! They had a great time!
Well done to Mr O' Flaherty's class for taking part in the travel challenge with such dedication and enthusiasm! The children have been meeting at Leisureland in the mornings to walk to school and others have walked from their home. They have 4 days to go. Keep up the great work!

Time to get your walking shoes on and inhale that wonderful Galway air before the school day begins. The ‘Big Travel Challenge 2022’ starts on Monday the 7th of February. For the next 2 weeks Scoil Róis is encouraging as many students to walk to school as possible! This is our last effort before renewing our Green Flag on the theme of ‘Sustainable Modes of Transport’ in March. Have a lovely weekend and happy walking! 😊 Our talented pupils have decked the halls with lots of art this term! We thought you would like a little peep!
Season’s greetings from Ms Sheridan and Ms Gilmore’s 4th Class! 🌲
