We wish all the Scoil Róis community a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas. School will close at 12 noon tomorrow. We look forward to welcoming you all back in the new year on Monday January 6th. Have a fantastic break everyone!  Christmas performances 2019...well done to all the boys, girls & teachers for all the amazing entertainment this week! Scoil Róis has certainly got lots of talent!       We were delighted to present a cheque for €1100, the proceeds from our Cake Sale, to COPE today. Thank you to all our very generous school community! It is great to support such a worthy local cause.  We are really looking forward to wearing our Christmas/winter jumpers this Friday, December 20th, in aid of the Galway Neonatal Unit in UCHG. Please support this special local cause by bringing in €2. Our donations will make a big difference.  Scoil Róis has got the X-Factor! Well done to Scoil Róis Orchestra and First Class for entertaining us this week and helping the school community to get into the festive spirit! A big thank you to Ms. Raftery, Ms. Kelly, Mrs. Gaffney and all the teachers involved.   Well done to our fantastic Mini Olympic Handball Team who represented Scoil Róis with pride recently in Knocknacarra! Thank you to Mrs Breathnach & Mrs Gaffney for all their great coaching.  First Class were busy coding & learning on our school i-pads today! We even got to program & code Bee-Bots, solve clues & problem solve in groups. We love promoting STEM subjects here in Scoil Róis! Fifth class had a very busy day today. Padraic from the Explorers Education Programme called to collect their fish tank and the girls presented their projects on the various fish to him. He was very impressed! They then got to dissect a squid & even got the opportunity to write with the ink from the squid! Well done fifth class & Ms. Kelly!  |
