Final update:
After some magnificent play, Scoil Róis have bravely lost our third game 2-1. Overall our fantastic team have come second in this national competition. We are extremely proud of you all. What a superb achievement. 👏👌💪 Excitement is brewing in the Aviva Stadium! Scoil Róis won their first and second match, the score was 1-0 in both games! We are so so proud of you. One more to go! Good luck to our great team!
We were proud to have our Active School Flag raised by Connacht star, and Adrianna's Daddy from Junior Infants, the great Bundee Aki! We also raised our Green School's Flag on this lovely afternoon.
Past pupil of Scoil Róis, Mary Healy, and fellow rugby star Mairéad Coyne delighted the school community today when they brought in the Ladies Rugby World Cup Trophy for us all to see. The ladies also answered lots of the children's questions. We all learned that with hard work and determination we can achieve anything. We are very proud of our past pupil Mary Healy and wish her, Mairéad and all the Irish Ladies Rugby team the best of luck in the Rugby World Cup, which is being hosted in Ireland later this year.
Our Gaelic Football team did themselves and their school proud today in the Cumann na mBunscol County Galway Competition in Renmore. They won two out of three games very strongly and played skillfully and competitively throughout the tournament. The girls trained very hard prior to the event and we are very proud of their great effort. Scoil Rois Abu!
Well done to our super senior soccer team who have reached the All Ireland Final in the Aviva Stadium on May 31st. We are so proud of you! Scoil Róis Abú!
We are so proud of our senior soccer team who are doing so well in the Primary School Soccer League. They have reached the Connacht Finals in Castlebar, which is on tomorrow, May 4th. A big thank you to Ms. Corcoran, John Power and Mrs. McNamara for all their input. Best of luck girls! The Scoil Róis community are so proud of you.
First class had two lovely visitors this morning....Flip and Fluffy! Charlotte and her mum, Delia, very kindly brought their duck and chick to visit the boys and girls. We really enjoyed feeding the lively birds and learned lots about taking care of them and other farm animals.
