Mrs. McCarra surprised us this week when she organised Mark, skipping expert and Skip'N'Rope coach, to give a skipping workshop to each class. The boys and girls did a superb job demonstrating great skipping moves that they had learned that promote fitness, coordination and skill. A big thank you to Dr. Siddiqui, Saba's Dad, who spoke to girls in Fourth Class about the heart. We were delighted to welcome Patricia Forde to our school this month. Patricia has published lots of books for children in Irish and in English, written two plays, as well as several television drama series for children and teenagers. We really enjoyed her visit and advice on writing stories. We are very proud to have retained our Green Flag Award here in Scoil Róis, for being an environmentally friendly school. Here are some recent pictures of International Day, which we celebrated as part of this great award. Thank you to Mrs. Forde and the Green School Committee for all their wonderful work.   We had a very exciting day in Scoil Róis for World Book Day on March 1st. We loved dressing up as our favourite book characters! We really enjoyed all the reading activities throughout the day - peered reading, paired reading, DEAR time, storytelling by the great Mrs. Ann Kelly and lots lots more! A big thank you to Mrs. Grogan for organising such a memorable day. |
