We really enjoyed showing off our great school this week during our Open Day. We were proud to show what a special place Scoil Róis is to our visitors. It was lovely meeting all the parents and children who came to visit. A special thanks to our Fifth and Sixth class who were our tour guides! If you were unable to make the Open Day, call and arrange a visit. Here is a snapshot of our lovely hall on Open Day. Ms. Meaney's 3rd class had 6 weeks of Italian lessons with two students from NUIG. They learned their numbers, colours, names of family members, Italian hand gestures and how to have simple conversations in Italian. The children learned all about the variety of foods that come from different parts of Italy. It was a great success! Grazie to Aisling and Mia - our wonderful teachers! 🍕 🍦 🍝  ...a doctor! A big thank you to Dr. Attah who recently came to talk to the children about his exciting and rewarding job. Here he is with his son Chike!   The children from Senior Infants had so much fun on a recent trip to Salthill Post Office. They had a very important errand to make...to post their Valentine's Day cards to their families! Well done to all Mrs. Doolan's great boys and girls! On Wednesday February 15th from 12.30-2.00 we will hold an Open Afternoon in our school for prospective students. Come and see our great school and meet all our super staff and students. We look forward to meeting you all and are proud to show you what a special place Scoil Róis is.  What a wonderful day it was in Scoil Róis! We were delighted to welcome all our lovely Grandparents to our school. We were proud to show off our talents to our special visitors - music, poetry, fun and laughter could be heard all around the corridors throughout the day! We conducted interviews on our Grandparents and really enjoyed hearing all about times gone by. Thank you to all who came from near and far for this special day.
                         We were busy making Saint Brigid's Crosses in Scoil Róis to celebrate Saint Brigid's Day and the start of spring. Well done to all the students involved in this age old tradition. Happy Saint Brigid's Day!       |
